Insurance

  1. The University of Georgia does not provide health insurance coverage for accidents or illness incurred while participating in a recreational activity or in a recreational facility.
  2. All individuals participating in a recreational activity assume responsibility for their health. It is recommended that all individuals who intend to participate should have a physical examination beforehand for their own protection.
  3. Anyone injured while utilizing the Department of Recreational Sports Facilities must immediately contact the nearest Recreational Sports Staff Member so proper care can be provided as quickly as possible. Staff Members are trained to provide limited emergency care to patrons until professional emergency care can arrive. If advanced emergency care is necessary, Recreational Sports will activate emergency procedures. Patrons are asked not to dial 911 directly as this may lead to delay/confusion in obtaining proper care.
  4. In any injury situation, the injured person (when possible) and any witness(es) will need to complete an Accident Report.
