RAMSEY STUDENT CENTER MEMBERSHIPS
Memberships General Information
Memberships grant access to the world-class Ramsey Student Center, Pound Hall & Wheeler Gym located on the Health Sciences Campus plus Recreational Sports classes and programs.
All members must have an active, paid membership in order to access the Ramsey Student Center, Health Sciences Campus Pound Hall & Wheeler Gym, and outdoor intramural fields and courts.
A valid UGA-issued ID number is required for all members.
Guest passes may be purchased at the Ramsey Student Center for a cost of $10.00 per day for adults and $5.00 per day for guests under the age of 18. All guests must be accompanied and sponsored by an active member while in the Ramsey Student Center or at Pound Hall.

UGA Student & Student Dependent Memberships
Students are automatically assessed the Student Recreation Fee, in addition to the mandatory Student Facility Fee, if they are registered for a total of six (6) or more face-to-face credit hours which gives them access to the facility. Students with less than six (6) face-to-face credit hours are able to self-assess and pay for the Student Recreation Fee and the mandatory Student Facility fee in Athena in order to receive access to the facility.
Student spouses are eligible to purchase memberships for the extent of each semester at a cost of $75 for each fall and spring semester and $60 for summer.
Limited access memberships for student dependent children under the age of 18 may be purchased at a cost of $25 per semester for fall and spring and $25 for summer. Children are permitted to use the facility on weekends (from Friday at 5 pm through Sunday at 11 pm) during the academic year and daily during the summer. All children who come into the facility must have a membership and must be directly supervised by an adult member at all times. Children are not allowed in the strength & conditioning rooms or on any cardio equipment located throughout the facility.
UGA students not enrolled in classes for the Summer semester can purchase a membership for the Summer semester for $60 by visiting https://shop.recsports.uga.edu/Membership/Index. This summer pass will go on sale in late spring preceding the Summer semester.
Faculty/Staff, Retirees & Dependent Fees
Memberships are available to faculty, staff, and UGA retirees, as well as their spouses, for $20 for a single-month commitment or $15 per month for a multi-month commitment.
Limited access memberships are available for dependent children under 18 years of age for the cost of $5/month/child. Children are permitted to use the facility on weekends (from Friday at 5 pm through Sunday at 11 pm) during the academic year and daily during the summer. Memberships for dependent children ages 18-26 are also available for the cost of $20 for a single-month commitment or $15 per month for a multi-month commitment.
Parents must certify the eligibility of older dependents annually with the UGACard Office before Ramsey Center membership can be established. Access will be available during all operating hours. Dependent children in this group do not have to be accompanied by an adult member.
TO SET UP PAYROLL DEDUCTION for active faculty/staff and their dependents, to maintain ongoing memberships and locker rentals, please visit the Recreational Sports main office suite during regular business hours to sign a payroll deduction request form or try our online membership form.
TO CANCEL A PAYROLL DEDUCTION MEMBERSHIP: Please note that all payroll deductions are continuous and ongoing until canceled by a signed cancellation request form submitted to the Department of Recreational Sports. The cancellation request can be found here https://recsports.uga.edu/payroll-deduct-membership-cancellation-form/. All payroll deduction actions (start, change, or end membership) must be received in the Recreational Sports office by the 25th of the month to take effect on the first day of the next calendar month. (For example, you must submit your request by August 25 to stop your September deduction, but you will maintain Ramsey access through August 31.)
10-Month Faculty Appointment Members must pay a lump sum 2-month membership extension for $30 in order to maintain their membership during the summer months.
Memberships are available to degree-holding alumni. Membership fees are $42 per month and can be purchased in lump sum payments for the preferred number of months. Alumni family and spousal memberships are not available.
UGA graduates are automatically considered members of the Alumni Association. You can receive an alumni card by visiting the UGACard Office located in the Tate Student Center, where the student record will be updated to reflect an official alumni status. At this point, you may return to the Ramsey Student Center to purchase a membership.
UGA Affiliate Memberships
Memberships are available to the following individuals for $30 for a single-month commitment or $25 per month for a multi-month commitment.
Affiliate types include campus ministers, campus visitors sponsored by academic units, OLLI, UGA program participants, and sorority mothers.
Suspension/Revocation of Membership Privileges
The Department of Recreational Sports reserves the right to refuse admittance to those individuals who impede our ability to manage and operate recreational facilities. Membership privileges may be suspended, temporarily revoked, or permanently revoked when an individual patron impedes the Recreational Sports staff’s ability to manage and operate recreational facilities and/or disrupt programs and services. Reasons for suspending/revoking membership may include, but are not limited to the following:
-failing to adhere to Recreational Sports policies
-failing to follow written or verbal instructions from Recreational Sports staff/University staff
-interfering with other patrons’ use and enjoyment of the facility
-violating of the Code of Conduct
If the Director (or his/her designee) decides to suspend or revoke a patron’s membership, the patron will be notified of the decision in a letter and will be refunded any unused portion of membership or mandatory fees already paid. The patron may appeal this decision in writing to the Vice President of Student Affairs within 10 business days from the date of the letter. The Vice President of Student Affairs (or his/her designee) will review the submitted materials and render a final decision on whether to uphold, modify or overturn the suspension or revocation of membership privileges.

Alternatively, you may visit the Recreational Sports main office, located in the Ramsey Student Center, during the business hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Currently enrolled UGA students do not need to complete this form.
Please note that policies are subject to the discretion and interpretation of the on-duty area/facility manager.
Individuals with a disability who may need special facility accommodations should contact Recreational Sports in advance to discuss possibilities by calling 706-542-5060 or visit the Admissions Desk upon arrival. Program-specific accommodations need additional time and should be addressed to the specific administrator of that area.
Full refunds are issued if the Department of Recreational Sports cancels a class, activity or program. All other refunds are charged a $15.00 processing fee. Classes, activities and programs costing less than $15.00 are not eligible for a refund.
Refunds are only granted in cases where there is a documented medical condition that precludes completion of the class, activity or program. If a refund is warranted, it is pro-rated based upon the class, activity or program start date.
All individuals participating in a recreational activity assume responsibility for their health. It is recommended that all individuals who intend to participate should have a physical examination beforehand for their own protection.
The University of Georgia does not provide health insurance coverage for accidents or illnesses incurred while participating in a recreational activity or on recreational facilities. It is recommended that each individual secure his or her own accident/health insurance policy.
The University recommends that each participant explore one of the following insurance alternatives:
• Your own insurance from an independent provider
• Parental insurance coverage
• Student-provided insurance coverage via UGA Human Resources

This membership category includes: campus ministers, campus visitors, consultants/contractors, OLLI, UGA program participants, and sorority mothers. Locker rentals are available for the following rates:
1. Staff members are not permitted to hold patron’s personal belongings.
2. Free Day Lockers are located throughout the facility. Bring a padlock to utilize the day lockers in the Men’s Locker Room (55-114) & Women’s Locker Room (1-56)
3. Day lockers must be emptied before closing each day.
4. Contents left in a day locker overnight will be removed and placed in lost and found.
5. Students and their dependent members must remove all locker contents from rental lockers by closing on the last day of the semester rental period or all contents will be considered to be lost and found items and will be subject to those policies.
All change and cancellation requests must be received in the Recreational Sports office, 201 Ramsey Student Center by 6 p.m. on the 25th of the month to be effective for the next calendar month. Holidays may create earlier deadlines. You will receive a confirmation email when the cancellation request is received in the office.
