Private Swim Lessons

Private swim lesson enrollment will begin March 12, 2025. If you are interested in private lessons, please fill out the form linked below. Thank you for your patience while we continue to make improvements to our swim lessons program.

Our aquatics program offers private swim lessons for children and adults of all ages and swimming abilities. These lessons are designed for non-swimmers learning basic skills and water safety, beginning swimmers transitioning to using defined strokes, or advanced swimmers in need of stroke refinement. The instructor will be in the water as necessary to demonstrate and assist the swimmer.

Registration and Scheduling Lessons

Filling out the interest form does not commit you you any set of lessons. A member of the AQ Team will reach out to continue registration and purchasing the desired package. Once paid for, the first lesson will be arranged by one of the aquatics program assistants. After the first lesson, the instructor will work with the participant to schedule remaining lessons based on their availability.

Parking is not included in the price of lessons. Please use the self-service kiosk located in the East Campus parking deck or the Park Mobile app to pay for parking using your vehicle’s license plate information.

Please reach out to ramseyswim@uga.edu with any questions.

Group Swim Lessons
We will begin offering group lessons during the Fall Semester due to instructor availability. Find more information on group lessons starting in July. Private lessons will continue as normal. Please see the Private Swim Lessons Tab for more information. Thank you for your patience.

Please reach out to ramseyswim@uga.edu with any questions.

Our Youth Swim Lessons (ages 4-17 years) are specifically designed to introduce water safety, build familiarity in an aquatics environment, teach basic swimming skills, and introduce competitive swimming strokes. Our instructors will work with each child to set goals, achieve new milestones, build a positive swimming experience, and set up your child for a lifetime of aquatic fun!

Our adult lessons (ages 18+) are designed for older swimmers looking for basic water safety and skills to endurance training and refinement.

Registration

We will have the following groups for registration: Parent Child (6 months-2 years old), Preschool (3-5 years old), Youth Lessons (6-17 years old), and Adult (18+). Choose the session to view the times and dates for each class. Please select the class that works best with you or your child’s schedule. Our instructors will perform a skills test on the first day of lessons with each child to place them in the appropriate level.

Swim Lesson Policies

Canceling Lessons
Students must notify their instructor at least 24 hours in advance to reschedule a private swim lesson. If the participant fails to do this, that lesson will be forfeited. If a participant no-shows, they will still be charged for that session. There will be NO REFUNDS and NO EXCEPTIONS. If a participant cancels 3 times in a row, the lesson package may be subject to cancelation if not communicated with the instructor. If Recreational Sports staff cancels or interrupts a lesson, the patron may reschedule for another time within 45 days.

Tardy Participant
If a participant is late for a private or group swim lesson, the length of the lesson is shortened by that amount of time. If a private lesson and the participant is more than 15 minutes late, the instructor reserves the right to cancel that lesson and reschedule for a later date.

Makeup Lessons (for Group Swim Lessons)

Makeup lessons will not be granted unless a scheduled lesson is cancelled by UGA Rec Sports. If a participant misses a regularly scheduled lesson, they forfeit that lesson.

Additional Policies
