We are excited to offer summer programs available to eligible parents/guardians of the UGA community:
Rec Sports Youth Camp (ages 7-12)

Rec Sports Youth Camp
This is our traditional summer program that we have run for many years. The schedule includes arts and crafts, fun with fitness, climbing wall, field day, swimming, and other sports-related activities.
Registration:
Camp registration will begin on Monday, March 3, 2025 at 8:30 a.m. online at shop.recsports.uga.edu. Please see our updated registration steps in the next section. Also please review our Parent Handbook for more information.
Youth Camp Sessions:
Week 1: May 27 – May 30, 2025

Normal Hours of Camp:
9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (Drop Off begins at 8:45 a.m. Pick Up begins at 2:45 p.m.)
Early Drop Off – 7:45 a.m. – 8:15 a.m. (see cost below)
Late Pick Up – 4:45 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. (see cost below)
Pricing:
$165 per camper per week
$20 per camper – Early Drop Off
$20 per camper per week – Late Pick Up
Rec Sports Youth Camp Refund Policy:
- Full Refund minus processing fee – If the camper provides more than one month notice a full refund minus a processing fee will be given.
- Partial Refund Possible – If less than a months’ notice is given and another camper is available to take the vacated spot, a full refund minus processing fee will be given. If there is not another camper to take the vacated spot, a 50% refund will be given.
- Visit shop.recsports.uga.edu and select “Sign In” using your UGA MyID and password.
- Click the icon for “Programs.”
- Click “Youth Camp” under the Classification filter.
- Select the week and age group for which you would like to register your camper. Click “Register” in the bottom right.
- If you need to add a dependent to your account, you can add your dependents under “Add Family.” Otherwise, select the child you wish to register.
- Sign the waiver by clicking the drop-down arrow next to “Not Accepted.” Then read the waiver document and click in the gray signature box at the bottom to sign. Click “save,” then “Accept,” and then “Next.”
- Enter the registration information by answering the questions. If you need to add Early Drop Off or Aftercare, you may do so at the bottom of the page. Then, select “Add to cart.”
- Finally, select “Proceed to Checkout.”
- If you need to add additional weeks or campers, then select “Continue Shopping.” Otherwise, CHECKOUT and enter your payment information.
There may be additional forms sent to you prior to camp to complete and send with your child (lunch menu for week 1, permission to administer medication, etc.). So please make sure you provide the email address where you would like to receive these notifications. If you have any questions, please email us at recsports@uga.edu.
Once per week we will take the campers on a field trip around Athens. Previous field trips have included an early showing of a new movie, bowling and Rush Athens to name a few.
Are any meals provided?
– Lunch will need to be provided each day by the parent/guardian.
– *Exception: We will provide lunch on Friday, May 30th for the shortened first week.
– During the day we will provide snacks.
Does my camper need a change of clothes?
– We will notify parents/guardians of days we will be in the pool or having water games on field days. On these days, a change of clothes will need to be provided along with bathing suits and towels.
How can I pick my camper up early?
– You can call the main office at 706-542-5060 if a change is needed on the day of pick up.
– You can email Jason James at jamesja@uga.edu if any adjustments in your campers day will need to be made.
