We’d like to welcome you to UGA Recreational Sports which provides a wide range of physical activities, designed specifically for the UGA community, to help fight the stress of school and life. We encourage everyone to take a break, be active and have fun with one of our many program offerings.

Our Mission: The Department of Recreational Sports in the Division of Student Affairs promotes healthy lifestyle choices by providing development, growth, and education for the University of Georgia through the spirit of recreation.

More About Us
In 2014, the departmental leadership decided to make a plan to support our student staff. The scholarship fund was started in 2015 through an annual golf tournament held at the UGA Golf Course. Each year the proceeds from the event support the fund as it continues to grow. The first recipients of the scholarship were recognized in 2019. These students display an exceptional degree of leadership and ongoing commitment to the Ram Fam.

Apply for the Scholarship
This scholarship is for undergraduate Rec Sports student employees only. The application link will be sent to all Rec Sports student employees each Fall, and after review by the selection committee, the scholarship winner(s) are announced during each End of the Year Banquet in April. Beginning in 2022, scholarships will typically be $1000, awarded to three or more student employees.
Students who are currently working at Rec Sports are eligible to apply if they will be returning to UGA in the Fall as a degree-seeking undergraduate student enrolled and maintain Rec Sports employment through the Fall.
Selection criteria includes:
- demonstrated application our values: Ram Fam, Excellence, Customer Service, and Spirit of Recreation
- a history of working at Rec Sports that demonstrates above average leadership
- a proven history of self-development while working for Rec Sports
